What are Con Sides of Simulator and Real Devices in Mobile App QA?

Practical QA guidance for mobile apps, websites, games, SaaS products, automation, testing cost, and outsourced software testing decisions.

We have already explained how Simulator and real time devices work when we try to make software QA ready. In this blog, we will take care of negative side of software testing done through both ways.

Emulator/Simulator: if testing is done over long period of time then there always need to be intervention of human. Only human effort can check whether output result is perfect or not. If there are budget and timeline constraints for project then manual testing through mobile is not an option for software quality analysis.

Functional testing: through simulator or emulator, functional testing can be done quite easily over very large scale. Even if you hire any reputed company for software quality assurance, they are not going to do testing for all available devices.

Unit testing: it is quite easier to perform through Emulator/Simulator while physical mobile devices wouldn’t be able to perform unit testing.

Manual testing: simulator or emulator is all about automation. On other hand, manual testing through mobile devices have entirely different scenario. One can bookmark or create short URL for any online application and then open.

These were some cons that are related with the mobile application software testing both through simulator and manual too. For more information about software testing, you can contact our expert and they will answer more.
