System Testing in Software Testing Hierarchy

There are four must have levels of software testing and system testing comes at number 3. Name of these four levels are unit testing, integration testing, system testing and acceptance testing. There is a systematic approach through which software quality assurance is performed. We will explain all available categories over here. We have arranged in chronically way for better understanding of all aspects. Check our steps before you reach to conclusion:

  • Unit testing: small module of software code is being checked. This part of the testing is called unit testing. In most of the case, this is done by the programmer so this is the initiation of the project.
  • Integration Testing: here several modules are being attached and their functionality is checked as a whole. It would be possible that unit testing goes well with various test cases but as whole integration testing can fail.
  • System Testing: compatibility is being checked for all system components so that functionality should remain intact.
  • Acceptance testing: this is actually called Beta testing. This sort of testing is being done at the users end.
